2018 Box Stock Class Rules

LO206 engine with be mandatory in 2019 Beginner & Box Stock classes

Rookie Box Stock
This class is for drivers to practice on race nights to help find their place in the racing world. Beginners may compete here until they have mastered a safe driving style with a minimum lap time of at least 12.50 prior to moving into an upper class.
Briggs & Stratton LO206 sealed engine with Green restrictor slide. RLV three stage exhaust header with RLV B91XL (part #4104) silencer/muffler. Any 3" x 5" round style air filter or smaller, outerwear allowed, Any clutch, premium gasoline no greater than 94 octane, locking cap Part #555726 on the carburetor slide cover must be installed.

Beginner Box Stock
Drivers will compete for Track Champion Points top three will receive awards.
Drivers age 5 to 8
Weight 265 on track scales
Wing optional
Tread tires only with right rear being 50/55 compound

No tire prep, No tire wraps
Blower cover/pull rope starter must be present and remain stock
Raceceiver recommended could be mandatory

Engine Options;
Box Stock 196cc 6.5 HP AKRA Clone Engine, Green restrictor plate .425 +0/-.0002 . Any clutch. AKRA legal exhaust weenie pipe .750" max O.D. header with RLV mini-91 silencer, AKRA engine claim rule in effect,  87 Octane Gas only.
Or;
Briggs & Stratton LO206 sealed engine with
Green restrictor slide. RLV three stage exhaust header with RLV B91XL (part #4104) silencer/muffler. Any 3" x 5" round style air filter or smaller, outerwear allowed, Any clutch, premium gasoline no greater than 94 octane, locking cap Part #555726 on the carburetor slide cover must be installed.

Black slide part #555590. RLV three stage exhaust header with RLV B91XL (part #4104) silencer/muffler. Any 3" x 5" round style air filter or smaller, outerwear allowed, Any clutch, premium gasoline no greater than 94 octane, locking cap Part #555726 on the carburetor slide cover must be installed.

Adult Box Stock
Drivers must be 16 years old, regardless how old you act.
No crying just keep racing you might get lucky and win one.
Raceceiver mandatory.
Kart configuration only, no suspension but big fluffy pillow to sit on is okay.
Weight 450 on track scales, we know most of you will have no problem making it.
No Wing(s) including Red Bull’s while racing.
Tread tires only with right rear being 50/55 compound
No tire prep, No tire wraps
Harbor Freight Predator 212cc engine only (Hemi or non-hemi head okay)
Gasoline only, no additives including whiskey of any brand.
Must have chain guard
Any drum clutch, a disc clutch will get you DQ
Top plate, fuel pump, throttle linkage device, header and muffler are allowed.
Can re-jet your stock carburetor if you think it will help.
Blower cover and pull rope starter must remain stock and working.
Stock air box, yep no 10 inch long air filters for y’all.
Engine governor must remain inside engine but can be bypassed. Paper clips work good.
You can install a fuel pump pulse line from valve cover and you can disconnect low oil sensor if you’re feeling brave.
No other modification to the inside or outside of the engine is allowed.

NOTICE: Predator engines will be purchased through Andrew Neff  (940-447-0885) and sealed in front of purchaser. Engines will be brand new in the box (hemi
or non hemi). Engines will be sold at same price as Harbour freight with additional 10 dollars for engine to be sealed. Seals will be ran
through side cover bolt, head bolt, carburetor stud, and blower housing bolt. Seals are numbered and will be matched to that engine serial
number. Seals must remain intact and unaltered. If seal looks damaged or tampered with the engine will be deamed illegal and will need replaced.
NO IF'S AND'S OR BUT'S !!!

Now the politics; Engine claim
If you are going to claim the A-main winner’s engine you must be in and finish the race to do so. You also must make the claim to the Tech Official with $150.00 cash no later than 5 minutes after the checkered flag of the A-main race has been displayed.
Claim is $150.00 for the engine, the top plate, fuel pump, throttle linkage device, chain guard; header/muffler is stuff you don’t get with your claim.
Penalty;
Refuse a claim you are suspended for the next two races at the track. Refuse again and you will need to find another place to race.




Box Stock 196cc Clone and LO206 Briggs & Stratton Claim Rule:
You must finish the race in the class to purchase the winners engine. A $350.00 claim rule is in place for the Box Stock clone and $650.00 for the LO206 engine. The motor mount, clutch, chain guard, throttle kit, header pipe/muffler, air filter adaptor, air filter, top plate & fuel pump are not subject to claim.

Claim Process:
To Claim the winners engine in your class the Protester must pay the claim fee in cash to Tech official no later than 5 minutes after the checkered flag of the A-main race has been displayed.
A $10.00 fee will be retained by Tech official to oversee the removal of the motor mount, clutch, chain guard, throttle kit, header pipe/muffler, air filter adaptor, air filter, top plate, fuel pump, fuel/vacuum lines and fuel tank at that time the engine will be surrendered to the Claimer.
The remaining money will be surrendered to the claimed engine owner.
If engine claim is refused by the engine owner you will loose all Championship points accumulated for the year, all awards for the night and will not be allowed to compete at next race at the speedway. Refuse again and you will need to find another place to race.

Protest Rule
Protest rule not the same the as the claim rules above:
Protester must pay a $65.00 fee prior to the A-Main race to protest a kart in their class.
A protest will be verbally accepted from the owner or driver only if his/her kart is in a race with the kart being protested.
 
Cash must be accompanied with the verbal protest to the Tech official.
Protests must be made before the start of feature race. Item to be inspected must be specified i.e.: engine, kart frame, weight or safety.
 
If the kart is found to be legal $40.00 of the bond money will be forfeited to the protested party and $25.00 will be retained for Tech official.
If the kart is found to be illegal $40.00 of the bond will be returned to the protester and $25.00 will be retained for the Tech official.
 
If you fail tech you will lose all Championship points accumulated for the year, all awards for the night and will not be allowed to compete at the next race at the speedway.
 
Any race team that refuses Tech or engine Claim will loose all Championship points accumulated for the year, all awards for the night and will not be allowed to compete for the next race at the speedway.
 
NOTE: The track retains the option to inspect for Tech violations on any entry at the entrant’s own expense.
The Track Officials have the right to check weight, safety items, oil, tires, fuel, and or any part of the motor or chassis for violations at anytime.
